Sandy - Week 4

Sunday, August 5 - Sandy is still precious.  Nothing very new.  She has decided that Luke's bowls are her toys.  She likes to push them around the kitchen floor.  Luke decided that he wanted to take over her toy.  He has been an only child for too long.  The 2 big kitties stay upstairs, so pretty much everything downstairs is his.  I chased him round with the camera and then chased him to get his toy.  Silly Luke.

Monday, August 6 -

Sandy loves her basket which is actually the recycling basket.  It is most fun when it is empty! She also likes to get in there when Luke is in and playing.  It is a lot harder for her to run away from the dog when she traps herself in the basket.

Sandy really likes to drink out of Luke's water bowl more than her pretty pink Fiesta dish.

In the picture above, you can really see her black lips with a tiny spot of pink on the lower left.

Jeff scratched Sandy's cheek and her back leg began to twitch. It was really quite humorous!

Tuesday, August 7 - Kitty collar part 2.  We don't know where the other one went, so she now has a new one.  I did not think about this collar having a buckle instead of a snap.  I can get the snap ones on is a second.  The buckle takes much longer... this equals more time to bite the hand.  It was this moment that she learned that she could really bite hard.  She was really not happy at all.  She ran around and meowed and bit at the collar.  She finally collapsed on the couch from exhaustion.  But...it is still on!

Wednesday, August 8 - Progress!  Luke eating and Sandy drinking.   A few moments after this, he chased her behind the couch.  Baby steps!

Thursday, August 9 - I spent the night at John Bunker Sands Wetland Center, so I did not get any pictures of my sweet Sandy.  Grandma and Grandma McGehee came over to let her out to play since Jeff was at work.  Grandma said that when she put Sandy up for the night, she got a super sad and OMG you are leaving me big sad eyes.

Friday, August 10 - I got home from the workshop and Sandy had obviously been cooped up too long.  She was all over the place.  She finally collapsed for a few minutes.

I went upstairs and unpacked and apparently I was gone too long because when I came back downstairs, Sandy was on the baby gate looking at me like - oops!

Check out those ears!  I think that they may be growing faster than her body!

And the belly...not a light eater!

Saturday, August 11 - I got the good news on Friday that Sandy's mommy tested negative for feline leukemia and feline HIV!!! So this morning when Bear-car came down to see Sandy, I let Sandy continue over the baby gate to go and see Bear.  Bear hissed and she backed off.  I put her back on the other side after they looked at each other for a few minutes, but Sandy had another idea.  She learned that there is a lot more to this house then just a kitchen, den, and a bathroom.  She explored the game room and the dining room.  She sniffed and ran and sniffed and ran... Oh my.  My baby is getting so big!
